The Full Story

The tennis bracelet's origin story is well-known in jewelry circles: Chris Evert lost her diamond bracelet mid-match at the 1987 US Open and stopped play to look for it. The design has carried that name ever since. What it represents — continuity, something worn so naturally it becomes part of you — is exactly why it endures.

The emerald cut changes the conversation. A traditional tennis bracelet is built for maximum sparkle; the round brilliant cut was designed for exactly that purpose. But sparkle is only one dimension of what a diamond can do. The emerald cut opens the stone up, lets light travel through it in longer paths, creates something more like a glow than a flash.
