About pink topaz
Pink topaz is a transparent silicate mineral rated 8 on the Mohs hardness scale, well suited to everyday wear in necklaces, earrings, and bracelets. Its color ranges from soft rose to deeper rosy pink, with the most prized stones showing even saturation and high clarity.
Natural pink topaz is rare. Most pink topaz in fine jewelry begins as a lighter-colored topaz and is heat-treated to bring out its pink hue, a standard and permanent practice in the gemstone industry. The result is a brilliant, transparent stone with significantly more sparkle than its frequent comparison, rose quartz.
Historically, pink topaz has been associated with love, compassion, and emotional warmth. In ancient Egypt it was carried as a talisman of love, and in medieval Europe nobility wore it as a symbol of grace and refinement.
